Brighton Le Sands Ice Creamery

February 12, 2012 at 2:54 pm (Dessert, Sydney)

Not surprisingly, I made a couple of trips to the beach while I was in Sydney and when you’re at the beach, ice cream is in order.  To be honest, Brighton Le Sands probably isn’t such a great beach for water quality or views but the Ice Creamery is definitely a draw card.  The store has been there since before I can remember and the ice cream is as good as ever.  They’re still rocking the old-school décor but the ice creams on offer have been constantly updated with new and exciting flavours.

Nostalgia...

Jaffa is one of my favourites and Baileys with scorched almonds is always tempting but this time round, I could not say no to ‘Stairway to Heaven’.  The extra 50c per scoop was more than worth it for Belgian white chocolate blended into ice cream with swirls of caramel and milk chocolate pieces.  Serena went for Rocky Road; chocolate ice cream with marshmallow, cherry and peanut pieces.

The ice cream isn’t particularly cheap but it’s not so bad when you don’t have to pay extra for waffle cones.  They also have a range of sorbets and low fat ice creams, although if the ice cream is that good, why not just go all out?
