Cinnamon baked apples

2 medium sized apples (granny smiths are best but still works with other types like royal gala)

½ cup of rolled oats

1tbs honey

2 tsp ground cinnamon + extra

yoghurt or vanilla ice-cream to serve


1)      Preheat the oven to 180degC fan-forced.

2)      Cut each apple in half and remove the cores.

3)      Combine the rolled oats, honey and ground cinnamon in a bowl.  Divide and stuff the mixture into the cored apples halves.

4)      Bake the apples uncovered for 10-12 minutes until the oats are golden and crunchy and the juices of the apple are released.

5)      Serve with yoghurt or vanilla ice-cream, dusted with extra ground cinnamon.
